From the Middle Jurassic Period of what is now Eastern Asia.
There is ONLY ONE ! named species (A. louderbacki), named after Dr. George Louderback, an American geologist and the first to recognize dinosaur fossils from the Sichuan Province of China in 1915. This sounds like evidence, to the fact he may have bought it, in a market then named it.
Both genus and type species were named by Chinese palaeontologist Peng Guangzhou in very brief fashion in 1990, then described in further detail by Peng in 1992
Basically for the Mid Jurassic this Dinosaur may have evolved into a clever Cretaceous dinosaur... but at only 4 ft long T-rex would make short work of it. infact an average size man could probably give it a kick and it wouldn't come back for more.
Its really tiny and semi-defenceless right in a hot spot of carnage (the Middle Jurassic).
Research in eyes suggests this dinosaur slept at night. Probably because it was such a wimp.
