KV20 is a tomb in the Valley of the Kings, which is a valley in Egypt where many pharaohs and nobles were buried
KV20 was probably the first royal tomb to be constructed in the valley, and it was originally the burial place of Thutmose I, who was a pharaoh of the 18th dynasty Later, his daughter Hatshepsut, who was also a pharaoh and one of the most powerful women in ancient history, adapted the tomb to accommodate both her and her father.
KV20 is different from other tombs in the valley in several ways. First, it has an unusual layout, consisting of five curving, descending corridors that bend clockwise, ending in a pillared burial chamber with three small storerooms.
Second, it is the longest and deepest tomb in the valley, measuring 210 metres (690 feet) in length and reaching 97 metres (318 feet) below the surface Third, it is very roughly hewn and undecorated, as the rock was too fragile to smooth or plaster3
KV20 was known to the French expedition of 1799, and was visited by several explorers between 1799 and 1903.
A full clearance of the tomb was only undertaken by Howard Carter, the famous english archaeologist and the discoverer of Tutankhamun’s tomb.
In 1903–1904 Carter found two sarcophagi in the tomb, one belonging to Thutmose I and one belonging to Hatshepsut. He also found some funerary objects, such as canopic jars, shabtis, and statues
He did not find any mummies in the tomb,
